Free and open to the public on a first come, first served basis. Each class meets for about an hour. Space at each class is limited. Arrive early and pick up a number at the desk. Students may be asked for current photo ID proving he/she is 16 years or older to participate.

Personal Computer (PC) Basics
This fundamental class, or equivalent experience on PCs, is recommended before enrolling in our other classes. This introductory class covers the most basic personal computing principles: the parts of the PC, the desktop display, customizing the screen, and using the mouse.
Internet for Beginners
Mastery of PC Basics is recommended before taking this course. Ideal for those who want to begin using the internet, this class will cover the basics of accessing the World Wide Web and using an internet browser to find information.
MS Excel for Beginners
Knowledge of PC basics and general knowledge of a Windows operating system is recommended prior to this class. The class will create and work with Excel spreadsheets, the computer equivalent of paper ledger sheets. A spreadsheet’s grid of columns and rows makes number manipulation easy. Entering data, formatting, cell alignment, fonts, mathematical calculations, and functions will be discussed.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of PC basics and general knowledge of a Windows operating system is recommended prior to this class. The class will create and work with Excel spreadsheets, the computer equivalent of paper ledger sheets. A spreadsheet’s grid of columns and rows makes number manipulation easy. Entering data, formatting, mathematical calculations, and functions will be discussed. This class will emphasize creating a visually appealing presentation of your spreadsheet’s results.
PC Maintenance & Security
Knowledge of PC basics, internet basics, and general knowledge of a Windows operating system are recommended prerequisites. The class will cover preventive maintenance of hardware and software. Security topics will include protection against viruses, hackers, and internet attacks.
Microsoft Word for Beginners
Knowledge of PC basics is recommended prior to this class. This class explains the basics of word processing: creating a document, adjusting its format, saving, and printing.
